A few months ago i told you i am not a “breakfast-girl”, but now I must confess, that I have done a U-turn over this fact. I dare it is only a matter of habit. Since I take my time in the morning to sit down for having some granola or porridge at home, breakfast is the first thing on my mind when I wake up. I would even say this meal in the morning is my favorite one. And I love it especially on weekends or holidays, when I have all the time in the world for hot coffee/tea, juices, fruits, eggs, yogurt and freshly baked bread. Fortunatly, we have a lot good bakeries with gorgeous tasting bread here in Germany, which are also open on sundays.
First of all: I wish you all a happy new year! I hope you enjoyed your holidays with your lovely ones and now you are recovering from good food, drinks and new year’s celebration. It is really loveliest time of the year for me, because during the christmas time and beetween christmas and new year’s eve i can take a more relaxed view on things in my life. But when it is all over, it always feels like a hangover, a mental hangover. I am a little bit tired, think with some melancholy about the last year and what to expect in next year. Actually, i am not one for making new year’s resolutions, because i think you don’t need a new year to change something if you really want to and most of the new year’s resolutions will be break latest after one month anyway 😀
In Germany, you say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But to tell the truth, I am not really a “breakfast girl”. Well, it’s because i am more the “just-5-minutes-more-in-bed” girl and i cannot eat when i am just got up. Thus my first breakfast constists of one coffee during the week. I know that is not the healthiest way. But i think, like everything in life, it is a matter of balancing. So whenever it is going to be a very hectic morning without time for caring of myself i try to compensate, wether it be with a little walk outside after work, a salad for lunch or a healthy late breakfast.
